Pianists and wrists

"The Show Must Go On"

Right?

I have NEVER had issues with my arms, but after Tech week, I seemed to have inflamed a muscle.  Opening night is tomorrow, and I have an Ace wrist wrap on my left hand.  I can play like this - but by the 2nd act, my wrist/forearm is aching at a 6 on a scale from 1-10.  Advil helps.  An icebag (well, a bag of frozen peas) on my arm helps.  But my goal right now is to get through Sunday.  Then I can rest.

Owie.  Stupid arm.

After playing a lot and especially if I'm sore, I soak my forearm in ice water for 10 minutes or less which helps the inflamed tendons and muscles to recover. Pitchers keep ice packs on their arms during the part of the inning they don't pitch, remember we're atheletes too! Hope you get through this. :)

Thanks for the thoughts!! Icing + Advil helped, and once the Adrenaline kicked in, I didn't feel anything beyond a '2' (on the 1-10 pain scale).

Yes, Pamela, we ARE athletes!! Stamina, determination, muscle, timing, flexibility AND artistry - not for the faint of heart :)
